Dieser Volvo kam im Jahre 2022 von Finnland in die Niederlande und war schon ein fertiges Wettbewerbsauto. John de Heijde hat mit seiner Firma JDH Classic Motorsport diesen Volvo dann revidiert und umlackiert zu einer Kopie des Autos das Susanne Kottulinsky von 1984 bis 1986 fuhr. Theo Ruigh lebt halb in den Niederlanden und in den USA und hat dort eine große Porsche-Rennwagensammlung. Er suchte einen großen Wagen mit viel Platz, um ab und an mal Rallye zu fahren, da kam ihm der Volvo gerade recht.
Gestern: Susanne Kottulinsky/Marianne Sterner, Schweden Rallye 1984
Susanne Kottulinsky war schon als Kind durch ihren Vater Freddy eng mit dem Motorsport verbunden und stieg nach drei Jahren mit Opel auf den großen Volvo mit Unterstützung vom Werk um. Schließlich war Volvo zu dieser Zeit im Tourenwagensport mit dem 240 Turbo recht erfolgreich. Für Rallyes war er aber doch recht groß und zu schwer, um selbst in der Gruppe A ganz nach vorne mitfahren zu können. Bei der Schweden Rallye 1984 wurde Susanne zwanzigste im Gesamt und elfte in der Gruppe A, wurde aber zweite bei den Damen hinter Michéle Mouton. Sie fuhr auch zahlreiche Rallies in Deutschland mit solch einem Volvo.

This Volvo came to the Netherlands from Finland in 2022 and was already a competition car. John de Heijde and his company JDH Classic Motorsport then overhauled and repainted this Volvo into a copy of the car that Susanne Kottulinsky drove from 1984 to 1986. Theo Ruigh lives half in the Netherlands and half in the USA, where he has a large collection of Porsche racing cars. He was looking for a big car with plenty of space to drive in rallies from time to time, so the Volvo was just what he needed.

Susanne Kottulinsky was already closely involved in motorsport as a child through her father Freddy and, after three years with Opel, switched to the big Volvo with support from the factory. After all, Volvo was quite successful in touring car racing at the time with the 240 Turbo. For rallies, however, it was quite large and too heavy to be able to compete at the front, even in Group A. At the 1984 Sweden Rally, Susanne finished twentieth overall and eleventh in Group A, but came second in the women’s category behind Michéle Mouton. She also drove numerous rallies in Germany with such a Volvo.

John de Heijde et sa société JDH Classic Motorsport ont ensuite révisé et repeint cette Volvo pour en faire une copie de la voiture que Susanne Kottulinsky a conduite de 1984 à 1986. Theo Ruigh vit à moitié aux Pays-Bas et à moitié aux États-Unis, où il possède une grande collection de voitures de course Porsche. Il cherchait une grande voiture avec beaucoup d’espace pour participer de temps en temps à des rallyes, et la Volvo était exactement ce qu’il lui fallait.

Susanne Kottulinsky était déjà très impliquée dans le sport automobile lorsqu’elle était enfant, par l’intermédiaire de son père Freddy. En effet, à l’époque, Volvo connaissait un certain succès dans les courses de voitures de tourisme avec la 240 Turbo. Au Rallye de Suède 1984, Susanne a terminé vingtième au classement général et onzième dans le groupe A, mais elle s’est classée deuxième dans la catégorie féminine, derrière Michèle Mouton. Elle a également participé à de nombreux rallyes en Allemagne avec une telle Volvo.
