Der erste Einsatz dieses T16 war die Rallye Monte Carlo 1985 mit Bruno Saby am Steuer. Der Franzose wurde dabei Fünfter. Dann wurde er zum Safari-Auto umgebaut und nach Kenia geschickt. Dort wurde er mit Timo Salonen hinter dem Lenkrad Siebter im Gesamt mit fast vier Stunden Rückstand nach einer Odyssee voller Probleme. Keil- und Zahnriemen rissen, Turboladerschläuche und sogar ganze Turbolader ging kaputt, dazu kamen drei defekte Ölpumpenriemen und zahlreichen Reifenschäden. Zudem wurden die hinteren Stoßdämpfer zu heiß und mussten mit Wasserbespritzung gekühlt werden.
Dieser Peugeot 205 T16 gehört schon viele Jahre der Familie Garrido, die ihn zweimal im Jahr bei Demonstrationsfahrten der Öffentlichkeit zeigt und ihn weitgehend im Originalzustand belassen hat.
The first event for this T16 was the 1985 Rally Monte Carlo with Bruno Saby where he came fifth overall. Then this T16 was turned into a Safari car and driven by Timo Salonen in Kenya where he finished seventh overall almost four hours behind the winner. Timo had loads of problems with alternators and cambelts, turbo charger pipes and turbos, three broken oil pump belts and a couple of punctures. In addition to that, the rear dampers got too hot and needed extra water sprayed onto them to keep them cooler.
This Peugeot 205 T16 is owned by the Garrido family for many years and they normally show it to the public twice a year on selected events while keeping it in genuine condition as much as possible.

Cette Peugeot 205 T16 est la propriété de la famille Garrido depuis de nombreuses années. Ils la montrent normalement en public deux fois par an sur des événements sélectionnés tout en la gardant dans ses conditions d’origine, autant que possible.
